Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor. Dapagliflozin lowers resorption of filtered glucose and thereby improves urine glucose excretion by inhibiting SGLT2. Dapagliflozin also improves sodium transport to the distal tubule by reducing sodium reabsorption.
